Public Service Announcement time!
Some of y’all may know that I serve on the board of directors for a really amazing non-profit organization here in Tennessee called All About Women. I chose to join this organization in March 2009, after completing a leadership course with the Young Leaders Council here in Nashville. I wanted to be involved with a group that was working hard to make a difference in people’s lives and could really use me–me, Jennifer, not just me, anonymous volunteer-type person. And AAW turned out to be a perfect way to do just that. I wasn’t just a faceless body; I was an individual who really mattered, who had something to offer.
Anyway, here’s what All About Women is all about:
“All About Women (AllAboutWomen.org) is designed to help women improve their health and revitalize their life without opening their wallet. Let’s face it: women need a place just for them that keeps it real. Meet Lily and Z, women who are juggling health, family, work and life. Laugh and learn along with them as they have a different experience each week. Join the conversation and browse the site to get the latest from experts, participate in activities, conversations, health assessments, personal journals and more. There is something new every week!”
We just launched our brand new website today. And we’re really excited about it. There was a LOT of work that went into it, too, and we’re hoping to continue to develop it to meet the evolving needs of the women who participate. That’s http://www.AllAboutWomen.org. Please, check it out. Let us know what we’re doing well. Let us know what we could improve. And check us out on Twitter at @allaboutwomen and on Facebook.
Now back to your regularly scheduled programming…
